The inner thoughts of the two assassins will leave you thinking like an assassin.

The two assassins intersect as Victor eludes his killers.

It’s a very stressful life! Staying anonymous is difficult.Īdding spice is a female assassin, Ravin. What makes this story special is that you get inside the head of an assassin. Just funny that one reader, voicing a character by a particular author can make you cheer for the character, while another narrator reading from the same can make you wish the character would be killed off.“The Final Hour” by Tom Woods is the 7th novel in a sequel involving Victor, a hired killer and assassin. Shapiro was a bit more smug and charismatic. Philpott made the character sound bitchy and catty.

I'd listen to a sentence or two of Philpott's portrayal of Victor (main character - the Assassin and all that!) and compare it to how I'd imagine Shapiro voicing it from the first book. I don't know if I would have necessarily picked up the second in the series had I listened to the first by Philpott. Shapiro did such a great job, brought a lot of depth to the characters. Listening to the third book - The Game - narrated by Daniel Philpott (Amazon vs. I read the second book - The Enemy - in paperback and developed a deep emotional man-crush on myself. I listened to the first book in the series - The Killer - and developed a deep emotional man-crush on Rob Shapiro.
